The History

Since its founding, Italvelluti has earned an enviable reputation in textile production, a reputation built on the highest standards of quality control, unrelenting attention to detail and the ability to stay up to date with the technological developments while keeping a spirit of hand craftsmanship and direct and personalized management of its activities.
Since its inception, the Company has realized its potential and moved in the direction of technological innovation. Italvelluti was one of the first textile mills in Italy to install its own CAD (computer aided design) system, technology that has since become essential but at that time (late 1980s) it was customary to delegate creation of Jacquard "cartoons"to specialized independent consultants. Today, the Group operates with its eighty employees at Montemurlo in the industrial district of Prato, using the most advanced information and management systems. Italvelluti has also led its competition in expansion overseas. Today, the Company runs two important foreign sales branches, Italvelluti Espana and Italvelluti Polska, and plans to open more. This international presence affords the Company a global perspective in terms of productivity and prompt responses to market changes and trends. An important project underway at Italvelluti is its increased integration between operations at the foreign branches and the parent company, thereby increasing its production and distribution capabilities.
Italvelluti continues to view research into sophisticated products as one of its top priorities and maintains investment in its extraordinary human resources. For more than fifteen years, Italvelluti has worked with the biggest names in the fabric design, partnerships that have resulted in a considerable number of new and interesting products. This cooperation has led the Company to promote the "collection" concept in the field of decorating fabrics. These are just a few examples of the commitment that Italvelluti has shown in developing the quality of its production, which it maintains while looking to advance and promote technology, value and design.
